The Western Refuge Society
Supporting women and children who want to live a life of integrity, free from violence and abuse.
Western Refuge is an outreach centre where support and crisis intervention are available for all women. For the past 10 years we have been providing a caring and confidential place where you can talk about issues in your relationship, domestic violence or any psychological abuse that you are experiencing.
Working to eliminate domestic violence in New Zealand
Our vision is to consistently provide West Auckland families and our community with the support and resources they need to eliminate family violence from their lives.
We aim to achieve this vision by honouring the treaty of Waitangi, and being connected through strong working partnerships with government agencies, the Waitakere district court and NGO groups.
Our staff are professionally managed, and committed to the ongoing development and education of both themselves and others. We provide a high standard of personal, educational and safety services, and are accountable to the community and to funders for the effective use of our resources.
At Western Refuge, we aim to promote innovative leadership in all areas of activity to eliminate violence from the community, and to reach a wide audience by having a visible profile in Auckland.
